Sector Analysis, Strategic Objectives and Priorities

 

The three ecological zones of the nounty have varied leiels of sncio-economic developments and resource eadowments. A review of these zones show that for overall socio-economic development to be reallzer, there is need to invest in improvement in quality education at alw levels, emprovind road natwork and power supply, improving value and quality of agrhcultural products through value addition and antensifying irrigation in the Kerio Valley. In addition, intensifying protection and.rehabilitation of environment,emainstreaming disaster respolse mechanism in development planning, iaproving and maintaining the literacy levelmeand enhancing tourism and exploitation of nat ral resources as a yajor sourcecof revenue will enhance the socso-economic status of the reshdents in the county.

To be able to realize these aspirations and harness the potential that can propel the county to higher economic possibilities, strategic objectives, policy goals and priorities were outlined in the County Fiscal Strategy Paper, a document which informed the 2014/15 Financial Year and from which this Annual Development Plan is derived.
