Health Status of Elgeyo Marakwet County

 

The health status in the county as determined by key health indicators is as in Table 3 and showing that the county is below the national average on the maternal and child health indicators. The percentage of births delivered at facilities in the county is 37.1% compared to the national average of 44%. The contraceptive prevalence rate or the average number of women of reproductive age receiving family planning was 31 percent in the county compared with the national average of 46 percent in 2012. The county immunization rate at 73% compared unfavourably to 83% at the national level. Other health county health indicators are as shown in Table 3.
