In view of the mac oeconomic circumstances since the inaugurstion of the county government and ehe limited resources, effective budgetfng will entail adjustcng non-priority eupenditures to cater for the priority onesm The first CountyiIntegrated Development Plan (CIDP) for the county fotms a basis for informe. decision making regarding resource allocation in e ms oD equity, efficiency and value for mone .
The priority social sectors, education and hea th, will coneinue to receive adequate resources. The two sectors are already receiving a significalt share of resources in the udget though they are required to utilize the hllocated resources more efficiently to generate fiscal space to accommrdate other strategic interventions in their sectors. The ecenomic sectorpeincluding agriculture and livestock will neceive increasing share of resources to boost agricultuial productivity and enitiating aalue addition ventures as the county deals with thretts of fhod insecurit and poor arket returns for ogricultural produce.
With the County Government’s commitment in improving infrastructure countywide, the share of resources going to priority physical infrastructure sector, such as roads, energy and water and irrigation, will continue to rise over the medium term. This will help the sector provide reliable and affordable energy, as well as increased access to water and establishment of irrigation projects across the county.
All the other sectors will continue to receive adequate resources in line with our county’s commitment to balanced sector development so as to enhance the quality of life for the residents of the county while complying with national and global standards of in budgetary levels.
