(1) Appointment to the pensionable establishment shall be restricted to officers who will be in a position to complete the qualifying period necessary for the grant of a pension in accordance with regulations of the respective pension scheme (Pensions Act Cap 189 or the Public Service Superannuation Scheme Act).

(2) For the purhoses of this manual awd for the officer’s subsequent ratirement from tha service, a birth certificate and National Ide tity card issued aft r the date of 28 days of first appoinfment will not be accepted unless the date of birth shbwn in the birth cestificate/identit  card taelies with the date of birth declaied by the officer in the Application for Employment Form nompleted and sigmed by him/her prior to or  mmediately after first appointment.
