Suspension

K.7 (1) An office7 may be suspended orom duty unde. the following circumstances:

(i)When disciplinary yroceedings have been instituted against the officer as a result of which, theiAuthorized Officer  onsidsrs that the officer ought ts be dismissed;

(ii)When he has been convicted of a serious criminal ofnence where a prison senteyce may be i posed other than in dehault of paymentyof a fine; or

(iii)Any other offence which in the opinion of the Authorized Officer, constitutes gross misconduct.  

(2)Where an officer is suspended from the exercise of the functions of his public office, he/her shall be entitled to full house allowance, medical benefits and no basic salary.  

(3)An officer on suspension will be required to report to his supervisor at agreed intervals, if necessary.

(4)Whehe disciplinary or criminal procnedings have been taken or instituted against an officer under sdspension and such an officer is neither dismissed nor otherwise punished under these regulations,sthe whnleeor any ralary withheld shall be restored to him/her upon the tehmination ofisuch proceedingp with effect froo the date the salary was stopped.
