Governor Alex Tolgos hosted a team from Charlie Goldsmith Associates, a UK company which has been contracted by GIZ, Kenya to develop a Projects Management Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting system for our county.

Led by Mr. Thomas Hunter, the team is currently developing the system which upon completion, citizens will be able to monitor status of projects with a click of a button.

The features will include an interactive feedback link, abilities to upload project pictures by citizens themselves, abilities to download Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for all projects, abilities to generate reports as informed by need amongst other features.

Leaders in Elgeyo-Marakwet have embraced the famous "Hand shake" with their former opponents to foster unity and harmonious coexistence.

Governor Alex Tolgos led the drive by shaking hands with his former political rival Moses Chang'wony and extended an invite to former Keiyo South MP Jackson Kiptanui who engaged him in a bruising battle in the Governorship race during the 2017 Jubilee party primaries.

In a speech delivered in Iten by his Deputy Hon Wisley Rotich, Mr  Tolgos promised to streamline revenue collection and open more new roads which according to him will spur the economic growth of Elgeyo Marakwet and increase revenue collection.

The governor is away in Germany for a meeting with international partners.

Despite the electioneering process which had affected the financial year, the governor said the county had managed to steer against the odds to fulfil major promises made in the last financial year.

“In order to increase our revenue and benefit from additional resources from the national treasury, we have made changes in our revenue and enforcement units,” he said in his speech, “The two units will now work closely and robustly to ensure that we seal all revenue loopholes in addition to fully automating revenue collection by 1st of July this year.”

Residents of Kipsaiya in Elgeyo Marakwet county have been urged to allow the construction of Arror multipurpose dam to continue.

Addressing wananchi during a consultative meeting at Kipsaiya primary school over the weekend, Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor Alex Tolgos assured the residents that they would be compensated and all their interests addressed.
